Brian Roskelly, an editor at Cox Automotive with Kelley Blue Book and Autotrader, is another of the up-and-coming generation of auto journalists that joined MAMA in 2023. If you haven’t met Brian yet, keep an eye out—he’s sharp and ambitious, and is a great conversation partner at a press dinner.

MAMA: How did you get started in the automotive media industry? 

Brian: Networking and persistence, before and during the height of a once-in-a-generation pandemic. My automotive career started with an internship at Mercedes-Benz USA's corporate communications agency in Atlanta, GA, but the two individuals who kicked off my support network were Scotty Reiss and Davis Adams, both fellow alumni from the University of Georgia.

MAMA: How did you find MAMA? 

Brian: Encouragement from Midwestern industry colleagues who I now call friends (Robby DeGraff, Jill Ciminillo, probably others).

MAMA: What’s been your favorite vehicle you’ve reviewed? 

Brian: Hyundai IONIQ 5.

MAMA: What do you like to do for fun when you’re not working?

Brian: Biking, inline skating, skiing, riding roller coasters, exploring my city.

MAMA: What was your first car? 

Brian: A 2013 Scion tC.
